Most moving companies need two weeks’ notice because their crews are booked out that far and there’s no slack in the schedule. Cardinal Moving keeps a standby crew specifically for the jobs that don’t have two weeks — a lease that fell through, a closing that moved up, an apartment that has to be empty by Friday. Renee Castellano manages that standby scheduling directly, and same-day or next-day availability depends on what’s open that week, not a blanket promise that it always works.
The trade-off other companies make on a rush job is usually staffing: whoever’s available gets sent, walkthrough or no walkthrough. We still do a walkthrough — over video if there’s no time for an in-person visit — because Darnell pricing the job blind costs more time at pickup than the ten minutes it takes to see the rooms first. It’s a compressed version of our normal process, not a skipped one.
Once the crew is booked, it’s the same rule as every other job: the crew that took the last-minute walkthrough is the crew that shows up, not a different set of movers pulled in because the original crew already had something else booked that day.

What This Service Runs
Crew size sets your hourly rate — $135/hr for two movers, $175/hr for three, $215/hr for four — or if you'd rather have a firm number before move day, Darnell can walk the place first and write one up
That hourly rate covers the truck, dollies, furniture pads, and shrink wrap — nothing billed separately: $135 for two movers, $175 for three, $215 for four, and $45/hr for each mover beyond that. A $150 deposit holds your date and comes straight off the final invoice. Basic released-value protection rides along at no charge on every job, and Renee will walk you through full-value coverage when she books your date if the higher payout ceiling is worth it to you.
